Friends' Plant Sales

Congratulations to the Growing Friends who are celebrating their 30th Anniversary this year!

  • The Friends hold plant sales, open to the public, twice a year in the RBGV Melbourne Gardens
  • These sales raise funds to support projects in the RBGV Melbourne Gardens

Growing Friends' Nursery Sale Dates - 2018

  • 6 July
  • 3 August
  • 7 September
  • 2 November
  • 7 December 

The Growing Friends' Nursery will be open for Plant Sales to Friends on the first Friday of each month (except when it clashes with the main sales' months) from 8 am to 1 pm.
From 1 June friends of Friends will be able to visit the Nursery and buy plants, but will not receive the Friends discount.Join the Friends to come along and receive members' discount.
The Growing Friends Nursery is next to the RBGV, Melbourne Gardens works yard, enter via Gate E (downloadable map below)

Members receive 10% discount on all plants

Weather Policy

The Friends' Inclement Weather Policy states that outdoor events may be cancelled and the Nursery will not be open for sales if the temperature is predicted to be 33 degrees Celsius or above.

Events or plant sales to be held within the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne will not be able to proceed if the Gardens are closed due to inclement weather or other reason.

Members of the Friends may visit the Nursery every Friday morning to look at the plants, check out what is being grown, and seek advice from the Growing Friends on plants and\or plant problems.
