Paint Flowers in the Garden (Gouache) Workshop

Gouache workshop with Jo Reitze of ‘Paints Your Garden’ in the Plant Craft Cottage's pretty garden. Bring the outside inside, capture the garden or that special spot. Join Jo at this hands-on workshop in the beautiful surrounds of the PPC Cottage Garden. This workshop will give participants experience working in gouache (opaque water colour), sometimes referred to as designer colour. This is a very forgiving medium and relies less on accidental effects than traditional watercolour. The strong tonal contrasts of oil can be achieved without the mess as it is a water based medium. A post card sized painting would be completed in the session.
A materials list will be available from the Friends’ office after booking.
Jo Reitze is a Fellow of The Victorian Artist’s Society and is the Past President of Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors. Jo usually works on location (en plein air) and in recent years, has concentrated on painting flowers and gardens, enchanted by their colour and beauty.
