The Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne will present the fifteenth biennial ‘The Art of Botanical Illustration’ Exhibition in September 2020 in the galleries at Domain House.  
 
This significant showcase is Australia’s premier selected exhibition of botanical artworks with over 150 paintings from local, interstate and overseas artists creating an inspiring collection of scientifically accurate works.


It will be the fifteenth ‘The Art of Botanical Illustration’ exhibition to be organised by the Friends of the Gardens Melbourne and will be held in Domain House, opposite the Royal Botanic Gardens from 19 September to 4 October 2020.
 
The exhibition is a sublime collection of the very best botanical illustration around the world and this year is represented by the ‘hero image’ of a Agapanthus Seed Head by Vicki Philipson, one of the students who participates in weekly classes presented by the Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne.  
 
Guidelines for artists will be available from April and applications for submitting artwork will close on 26 July 2020.
The selection of artwork based on the criteria outlined in the guidelines will take place on Monday 10 August after which successful artists will be notified.
